Welcome to my Bloggiesta Challenge:
Create Your 50 Bookish Things List
For those of you that are new to Bloggiesta, it’s a fantastic weekend-long event that is designed to help you get your blog up to snuff. It’s filled with challenges, advice, and Twitter chats to help connect bloggers and optimize their sites. I highly recommend joining in!
How 50 Bookish Things Began
Earlier this year, while Rebecca from Love at First Book and I were discussing the popularity of Books to Read Before You Die Lists, we began discussing our other bookish goals. By other, I mean things like meeting authors, collecting signed books, visiting libraries, and participating in book clubs. After some extensive internet hunting, we realized that while there are literally hundreds of book-specific bucket lists, there were absolutely zero lists designed to incorporate non-reading action items. And so, 50 Bookish Things You Must Do Before You Die was born. [Side note: While we have seen other lists pop up since then, they were all (to our knowledge) posted after ours went live].
My challenge to you is to begin your 50 Bookish Things list. I emphasize the word begin because a good and proper list will take time. Rebecca and I spent weeks putting our lists together and ended up have 35 goals in common. So if you can only come up with 5 items for your list right now, that’s okay. Feel free to use our lists (here and here) for inspiration. If you head over to the main 50 Bookish Things page you can also browse lists from other bloggers who have already begun their lists (this is also where you can link up your page for the Rafflecopter giveaway). And remember: this is a lifelong goal so you can always add or subtract things from your list!
Things to Keep In Mind
Because this is an ongoing challenge that is not Bloggiesta-specific, we ask you to please, please, please link back to us by adding our button to your page and adding your link to the main page (also worth 10 entries!) We worked very hard on this concept and appreciate your support. Also, if you aren’t able to create your own list at this time, you can still enter the Rafflecopter giveaway by following us on Facebook/Twitter or adding the button to your blog.
