Today is the day! The Classics Club is hosting a Classics Club Spin, which means that I need to list 20 books from my personal list and they are going to pick a random number between 1 and 20. Whichever book from my list corresponds with that number is the one I HAVE to read by April 1. I opted to only put books that I have had on my to-read list for years and those that I am intimidated by so that I will have a nice kick in the rear to read them!
So, here goes:
- Alcott, Louisa May – Little Women
- Austen, Jane – Emma
- Bennett, Alan – The Uncommon Reader
- Bronte, Charlotte – Jane Eyre
- Bronte, Charlotte – Wuthering Heights
- Dickens, Charles – Oliver Twist
- Flaubert, Gustave – Madame Bovary
- Forster, E.M. – A Room with a View
- Friedan, Betty – The Feminine Mystique
- García Márquez, Gabriel – One Hundred Years of Solitude
- Hawthorne, Nathaniel – The Scarlet Letter
- Irving, John – A Prayer for Owen Meany
- Nabokov, Vladimir – Lolita
- O’Hara, John – Appointment in Samarra
- Plath, Sylvia – The Bell Jar
- Tolstoy, Leo – Anna Karenina
- Watson, Winifred – Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day
- Wharton, Edith – The House of Mirth
- Wilde, Oscar – The Picture of Dorian Gray
- Wolfe, Tom – The Bonfire of the Vanities

I hope you end up with Prayer for Owen Meany, Anna Karenina, or Picture of Dorian Gray. (I also like the Scarlet Letter, but not many people want that one wished on them! Lol, but it was the first book I ever taught.)
Are you hoping for a specific one to be chosen?

Oh I hope you end up with A Prayer for Owen Meany, Picture of Dorian Gray, or Anna Karenina! (I also love the Scarlet Letter, but not many people seem to want that one wishes on them! Lol. It was the first book I ever taught.) My husband watched the movie version (though slightly modified) of Prayer for OM and loved it.

Owen Meany is one of the books I”m looking forward to reading. The magic number was 14, so I’ll be reading Appointment in Samarra, first!
