As many of you know, the #30Authors event I hosted back in September was a huge success. We had some amazing authors participate and several of them have really shot to the top since then. Over the next few weeks, in preparation of the #30Authors Legacy Anthology launch, I’ll be sharing with you some updates from our amazing contributors. Welcome to Part 1!
Celeste Ng
“In November, Amazon selected Everything I Never Told You as its #1 best book of 2014. Since then, the novel hit the New York Times Bestseller list and received an Alex Award and the 2014 APALA Asian/Pacific Award for Literature. The paperback will be released in May 2015, and the book will also be published in seventeen countries (and counting). And I’m slooooowly getting started on another novel.”
Adria J. Cimino
“Fellow author Vicki Lesage and I started our own indie publishing house, Velvet Morning Press, the publisher of the 30 Authors “Legacy” anthology as well as another multi-author book called “That’s Paris: An Anthology of Life, Love and Sarcasm in the City of Light.” We were really excited about seeing “That’s Paris” make it to No. 1 Hot New Release in its category on Amazon.com. We also are in the process of signing on some talented authors for other books… Stay tuned!
As for my writing, I re-released my debut novel, “Paris, Rue des Martyrs,” in paperback and published my second novel, “Close to Destiny,” in paperback as well. “Close to Destiny” is contemporary fiction with magical realism, and is a story of the role in destiny in life and of righting the wrongs of the past. I have a third novel now in the editing stages and ideas for others. Finally, the books I wrote during a period of 12 years are seeing the light of day! And I’m very proud to say that I was invited to join the wonderful group of women known as the “Tall Poppy Writers”. Together, we work to grow relationships and connect with other authors and our readers.”
J.J. Hensley
“Since the initial 30 Authors event, J.J. Hensley has released his second novel – Measure Twice – which has been a critical success. In addition to promoting this new thriller, he has been busy completing the final edits on his third novel which is due out later this year. While J.J. is fairly proud of these accomplishments, most of his joy comes from the fact that his three-year-old daughter now insists on dancing to the hard rock band Pop Evil, yet can quote lyrics from the 80s band Crowded House. J.J. is also working on a fourth novel, so maybe you thought he was finished but… Don’t Dream It’s Over.”
Paula Young Lee
“Paula Young Lee’s nonfiction debut, Deer Hunting in Paris: A Memoir of God, Guns, and Game Meat, won the 2014 Lowell Thomas Travel Book Award of the Society of American Travel Writers. In the 30 year history of this prestigious award, she is the first Asian-American woman to win. She is currently completing a cli-fi psychological horror series, The Seven Perfections. Vol 1: Premonition; as well as a Middle Grade adventure trilogy, Camp War. Follow her on twitter @paulayounglee.”
