Last year, following #30Authors’ inaugural event, Velvet Morning Press graciously turned the online event into an actual book (which I’m pleased to say boasts a 4.20 review on Goodreads!) We asked authors, both contributors and non-contributors, to share (in the form of a short story) what they want their legacy to be and what the word meant to them and the responded with some stunning works. Now, as #30Authors reaches the halfway mark in its second year, I wanted to share with you the amazingness that is Legacy: An Anthology. Below are some of my favorite quotes and conversations about the book, followed by some great reviews (thanks!). I hope you take the time to check it out and, of course, that you purchase the book! In the meantime, check out the full list of contributors here.
- “When I first started contemplating a story for the anthology, I was viewing “Legacy” as a positive theme. But, being a crime fiction writer, my twisted mind turned it around and I decided to take the assignment on a darker spin around the block. As we all know, some legacies are unhealthy ones and sometimes they need to be shattered in a deliberate, and possibly violent, manner.” – Contributor J.J. Hensley in an interview on Read At Home Mama
- “Long after we’ve left this world, our legacy remains. Or doesn’t. Or remains only in the minds of those who knew us, those whose lives we’ve touched. Those we’ve written to, or about.” – Velvet Morning Press
- “What if a person knew they were going to die without a legacy and their last days were filled with these failed attempts to make a difference?” – Contributor Stephanie Carroll in an interview on Military Spouse Book Review
- “Within these pages, there is laughter, pride and hope. There is romance and rock and roll. Certain messages are eerie, while others bestow a sense of peace. The collection, through the discerning lens of each writer, runs the gamut of the human experience.” – Velvet Morning Press
